Mrs G Wilson - The Headteacher

Hello my name is Gerry Wilson and I have the privilege of being Executive Headteacher of Wombwell Park Street and High View Primary Learning Centre. I say privilege as one of my great loves in life is and always has been working with children, having the pleasure of watching them grow throughout their primary school years and sharing in their successes along this journey.

 

I have two children of my own, both girls Bethany and Ella, and I have always led a school with the belief that it must be one that I would be proud if my children attended. My children are like ‘chalk and cheese’ as they say, Beth my eldest is very musical and Ella loves her sport. Out of school I spend a lot of time caring for our many pets, 9 shetland ponies, 1 shire horse, 2 spaniels and 2 cats.  For relaxation I love to ride around our local area on our shire who has become quite a local celebrity.

 

I look forward to working with you in the future to ensure that every child in both Wombwell Park Street Primary and High View Primary Learning Centre has the very best support and opportunities to fulfil their individual potential and make the most of their primary years.

 

Mrs Longden - Associate Head

Hi there. My name is Mrs Longden. I am one of the Associate Headteachers and currently teach Year 6 alongside Mrs Knott.  I have taught in schools in Sheffield and Barnsley and joined Wombwell Park Street in 2002.  I am incredibly proud of our school and particularly enjoy the fabulous performances which we regularly put on.  PARK STREET MOST DEFINITELY HAS GOT TALENT!  When I am not teaching the children of Park Street I am kept busy with  my own little boy. We enjoy walking, watching films together, going to the theatre, bike riding and camping (but not at the same time!).

Mrs Knott - Associate Head

Hello. My name is Mrs Knott. I am the other Associate Headteacher and I teach in Year 6 with Mrs Longden. I have taught in years 5 and 6 for the majority of my teaching career  (12 years). I spent a year working as a National Strategies Consultant for Barnsley supporting schools raise achievement in Mathematics and English. My passion is for making learning fun and involving children in their development. As the 'tech freak' here at Wombwell Park Street I am  responsible for all the gadgets and developments in ICT that keep moving forward at a breath-taking pace!
